WHAT'S HE WORTH TO YOU?
Guest Blog by Pastor Caleb
$430,000,000. That’s how much the Los Angeles Angels, a Major League Baseball team, will pay their star player, Mike Trout, over the next 12 years. $430 million. At my current salary as a Youth Pastor at West Pines Baptist Church, it would take me over 8,600 years to make what Mike Trout will make in the next dozen. I don’t think I’ll live that long.
Is Mike Trout worthy of $430 million? While you and I probably don’t think he is, his employers think he is, and their pocket books reflect that. This got me thinking: what’s Jesus worth to me? I would tell you that He’s worth everything to me, but if you were to seriously look at my life I’m sure you wouldn’t say the same thing.
This Sunday we will look at Revelation 5 and see how Jesus is worthy! He is worthy of worldwide worship and He will receive worldwide worship! I need this Sunday because I lose focus on the worth of Jesus Christ. You need it too! To prepare your hearts for Sunday, will you prayerfully read Revelation 5 as well and pray through these questions:
Is Jesus of more worth to me than anything else in my life? (including good things)
Is Jesus worthy of being known?
Is Jesus worthy of being worshiped?
Is Jesus worth my attention?
Is Jesus worth my time?
Is Jesus worth my money?
Is Jesus worth my affections?
Is Jesus worth me living for Him?
Is Jesus worth me dying for Him?
Will you also consider coming tonight @ 7pm to Night for the Nations as we magnify the worth of Jesus through prayer, praise, and preaching? Child care will be provided for those of you with young children.
I look forward to seeing you tonight and Sunday morning as we magnify the worth of Jesus! He is worthy!
