WHAT ARE YOU FIGHTING FOR?
Guest Blog by Pastor Caleb
“Stop fighting with your sister!”
If I had a dime for every time I’ve heard that phrase, I’d be a rich man. Instead I got Tabasco sauce in my mouth and whoopings on my rear end! For good or for bad, for better or for worse, we fight for things all the time. What do you fight for? I would guess that you fight for some of the following:
But as followers of Jesus Christ we are called to fight for other things. So I ask, do you fight for...
Your passion for Christ?
Your love for the gospel?
Your love for the church?
Your love for the lost?
This week and next week we will be studying the book of Jude. The main point of the book is found in verse 3 where Jude tells believers to “earnestly contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the faith.”
Contend for the faith. Fight for the gospel. What does this mean? What does it look like? Why is this important?
I encourage you to read the book of Jude and come Sunday morning at 10AM prepared to worship Christ, learn about the faith, and to apply the Word of God in your individual life and in the life of the church.
Also, come back Sunday night at 6PM for our communion service to remember the body of Christ that was broken and the blood of Christ that was shed on the cross. We will have a pot-luck dinner so please bring something to share with all the church!
See you Sunday!
